Tim Hill is a musician, band leader, composer and performer. His work ranges through jazz, folk, music for outdoor shows, free improvisation and beyond. Tim’s band Tongues of Fire are a riot of reeds and brass making a joyful noise for dreaming, dancing and celebration. He is also a member of the Mellstock band recreating English rural music of the 18th and 19th centuries and appearing in many TV and film productions including the classic BBC Pride and Prejudice. He has been musical director for Welfare State International, Macnas, Newbury Corn Exchange, Desperate Men, Cirque Bijou, Oxford Story Museum, Liverpool Lantern Company and Salisbury Festival.  Recent education projects include Somerset Art Works, Dartington Trust, Marsden Jazz Festival, Wye Valley River Ferstival and Oxford Contemporary Music. His company Rag and Bone breathe new life into outdoor theatre and processional traditions, telling stories, building giants, great beasts and dream machines and creating elemental performances.
